Bearbox CCTV Monitoring

BearBox offer a full CCTV over IP installation service, allowing your staff to monitor your sites in real-time, or to view recorded movies from any web-based computer - anywhere.

How does it work?

  • Images are recorded at regular intervals on to a hard-drive (off site backup is also available) and full-motion video is recorded whenever motion is detected or the camera is “triggered” by an external event, such as a door being opened.
  • Video is recorded for up to 30 days and both real-time and recorded video can be viewed directly from any internet enabled computer.
  • There is no limit to the number of cameras that can be installed, and BearBox offers a wide range of cameras to fit your budget, including wireless and cameras with both low-light and infra-red capabilities.
  • Each camera is set with individual access privileges, ensuring, for example, that areas where staff work during the day cannot be viewed during working hours if that is company policy.
  • Video images are fully integrated with the BearBox Access Log storing images alongside access activity.

Feature The Competition BearBox
Security Anyone with access to hardware can make copies of (or destroy) video. Password protected system allows you to control who can view live or recorded video.
Off-site backup Images stored on dedicated hardware - must manually be copied to CD/DVD if backup is required. Images/video can be mirrored in realtime to an off-site location if required. Also the BearBox system can be set to email images every time motion is detected.
Number of cameras 24 (limited by hardware). Unlimited
Remote viewing Video can only be viewed locally or by remotely taking control of local PC (requires custom software/high-speed network connection). View real-time or recorded video from any computer on the Internet.

View feeds from multiple sites from a single screen.
Displays Individual screens required for each video stream. Set-up (deciding which image appear on which screen) must be performed by installation company. 42" or 50" LCD screen can display up to 16 feeds simultaneiously. Feed layout can be determined by customer at any time via BearBox website.
Digital video recorder Expensive DVR required - requires engineer on site to modify/repair. Additional features (e.g. motion detection) require expensive and error-prone additional sub-boards. IP cameras do not use DVR - images/ video captured directly to hard-drive.

Uses remotely configurable computer - motion capture comes as standard.
Camera installation Cable required to each camera. Combination of wireless and Ethernet cabling offers high-speed, cost-effective installation.
Integration with Access Control None. The two systems are entirely separate. CCTV images appear alongside access information displayed on the BearBox website.
